About XBloome

There is a room with blue coloured walls. A colour that has the capability to cause mental deseases. Two attrided couches mark off each end. This room is messy with more or less useful equipment scattered around, bottles and cans beneath overfull ashtrays. Just a closet with the size of 2x4 meters. The garbage in the corner is not what it seems to be. It is used as a drum set - made of emty cans, bottles and cigarette boxes. In between there is high tech made by Korg, a PC to render drum samples, a 4 stringed bass, a carillon and many, many cables lying around. Weird contrasts.
This is where XBloome practises and plays. Here they develop new sounds, occasionally eat, celebrate and sleep.

XBloome are Bel's sense giving voice and her violin, Hannes at the Korg to supply the electronic framework, Peter and his perfectionist digital drum samples and Bernhard playing porn inspired bass lines.

Since they are between 26 and 29 years of age, they can look back at the times when they played in punkrock and indie-rock bands. But their role models changed - Sigur Ros, Massive Attack and the Sneaker Pimps appeared on their favourite playlists. And they decided to play new sounds as a homage to them.

The "blue room" is not just the basis for thought experiments. It is also inspiration for the first, identically named song. This room got so important, that they originally intended to call themselves something the like. So they invented the name XBloome to sound like a melancholic
springtime in the blueroom.

"It is all about the beauty of life and its colourful facets, the dark and the bright sides and fairytale-like stories that appear as a result. The songs are basically about modern life, stressful times and the same old thoughts and feelings that haven't changed in the history of mankind."

Why the name "XBloome"? What does it mean?

Everything started at Zelli's home, in a small room called "Blue Room" - At the beginning, the internal name for this musical project was "Blue room project", but "googleing" revealed that this name was already taken.
Peter's requirements for the name were: unique with a background story.
Inspired by idols like "sigur ros", we tried islandish words but they either sounded good and had the wrong meaning, or had the right meaning, but didn't sound good.
We wanted to include the spirit of the "Blue room", and after bending, shaking and squeezing things a little bit we came up with "XBloome":
